Bivariate Uniqueness and Endogeny for the Logistic Recursive Distributional Equation

چکیده

In this article we prove the bivariate uniqueness property for a particular “max-type” recursive distributional equation (RDE). Using the general theory developed in [5] we then show that the corresponding recursive tree process (RTP) has no external randomness, more preciously, the RTP is endogenous. The RDE we consider is so called the Logistic RDE, which appears in the proof of the ζ(2)-limit of the random assignment problem [4] using the local weak convergence method. Thus this work provides a non-trivial application of the general theory developed in [5]. AMS 2000 subject classification : 60E05, 60J80, 60K35, 62E10, 82B43.

Bivariate Uniqueness and Endogeny for Recursive Distributional Equations : Two Examples

In this work we prove the bivariate uniqueness property for two “maxtype” recursive distributional equations which then lead to the proof of endogeny for the associated recursive tree processes. Thus providing two concrete instances of the general theory developed by Aldous and Bandyopadhyay [3]. The first example discussed here deals with the construction of a frozen percolation process on a i...

Endogeny for the Logistic Recursive Distributional Equation

In this article we prove the endogeny and bivariate uniqueness property for a particular “max-type” recursive distributional equation (RDE). The RDE we consider is the so called logistic RDE, which appears in the proof of the ζ(2)-limit of the random assignment problem using the local weak convergence method proved by D. Aldous [Probab. Theory Related Fields 93 (1992)(4), 507 – 534]. This artic...

Bivariate Uniqueness in the Logistic Recursive Distributional Equation

In this work we prove the bivariate uniqueness property of the logistic recursive distributional equation, which arise in the study of the random assignment problem, as discussed by Aldous [4]. Using this and the general framework of Aldous and Bandyopadhyay [2], we then conclude that the associated recursive tree process is endogenous. Thus the logistic variables defined by Aldous [4] for find...

A Necessary and Sufficient Condition for the Tail-Triviality of a Recursive Tree Process

Given a recursive distributional equation (RDE) and a solution μ of it, we consider the tree indexed invariant process called the recursive tree process (RTP) with marginal μ. We introduce a new type of bivariate uniqueness property which is different from the one defined by Aldous and Bandyopadhyay [5], and we prove that this property is equivalent to tail-triviality for the RTP. Thus obtainin...

Numerical solution of fuzzy Hunter-Saxton equation by using Adomian decomposition and Homotopy analysis methods

In this paper, a fuzzy Hunter-Saxton equation is solved by using the Adomian'sdecomposition method (ADM) and homotopy analysis method (HAM). Theapproximation solution of this equation is calculated in the form of series whichits components are computed by applying a recursive relation. The existenceand uniqueness of the solution and the convergence of the proposed methodsare proved. A numerical...
